Elliot Page, the formerly Ellen Page actor, announced that he’s trans.

“I’m honored to write that. To be here To be here. In my life, I’ve come to this place.”
“To finally love who I’m enough to pursue my authentic selves, I cannot begin to express how wonderful it is.”
“Too many in the Trans Community I have been constantly motivated. Thank you for your courage, your kindness and your relentless work in making this world a more accepting and caring environment.
“I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.”
Page called for “patience,” saying that while his joy is genuine, it is also delicate, acknowledging that he is “fearful of invasiveness, hatred, jokes and violence.”
He expressed concern for the discrimination towards trans people, saying it is ‘rife, insidious and cruel’, resulting in ‘horrific consequences’.
It has been confirmed in 2020 alone that at least 40 transgender people were killed, most of them Black and Latinx trans women,” wrote Page.
“For the political officials who are trying to make trans-healthcare illegal and deny our right to live and to those who want to spread hostility towards the trans community, you have blood on your hands.
“Enough is enough. You aren’t being ‘cancelled’, you are hurting people. I am one of those people and we won’t be silent in the face of your attacks.”
“Page added: “I love being trans. And I love being queer. And the more I accept who I am, the more I imagine, the more my spirit expands and the more I flourish, the more I hug myself tight and truly embrace who I am.
“To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”
