A woman’s body discovered on the side of a road in Houston was named on Monday as local Instagram influencer Alexis Sharkey.
The police, who named 26-year-old Alexis Leigh Robinault by her full name, said the body was discovered about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. On the Red Haw Lane foot.
On Instagram, Sharkey had 25,000 followers and allegedly worked with Monat, a hair and skincare company.
Police said there were no obvious wounds on Sharkey’s body and that the cause of death is still awaiting an investigation by the Forensic Sciences Institute of Harris County. Her mother, Stacey Clark Robinault, tells ABC13, however that she suspects foul play.
“I do believe she was murdered,”I do believe she was murdered. “From what I’ve been able to gather as well as a mother’s gut. I learned very young as a mom to trust my gut. It’s not let me down.”
She also thanked the public for their help in a Facebook post and said, “Please give us this time to grieve this amazing loss to our family and this world!!!”
Robinault did not respond to requests for comment directly, but told ABC13 that her daughter went missing on Friday. The next day after her daughter’s partner, Tom Sharkey, called to say he hadn’t heard from her since Friday, she learned about her disappearance.
